Mark it with a “B”…

It’s Friday!! The long weekend is just a few hours away and I am preparing for some down time with my little family!

I work from home on Fridays and In between emails and drawings I like to plan fun activities that my kids and I can do together. Sometimes we feed the ducks or learn about nature. Some days we’ll go to the park and other days we simply decide to stay in and make things.

So, few weeks ago, I decided that it might be a fun idea to plan a simple monogram craft for Brisa’s nursery. I thought it would be a perfect way to be creative and practice letters all at the same time.  It was a win win!

Blank canvas...

Blank canvas…

I grabbed some leftover paint that I had around the house and picked up the rest of the supplies (canvas and buttons) all at the Dollar Store. $1.50 for a canvas?! $2.00 for a bag of pink buttons?!…Yes please!! This entire craft cost me $3.50. Score!!

She was pretty freaking excited

Well…some one was excited!!

Next, I traced the letter “B” onto the canvas. Vayda had the important job of dabbing tiny amounts of glue and sticking on the buttons. She did a pretty awesome job!

Glueing down buttons like she's been doing it for years!!

Loved the way our simple craft turned out!

Ta Da!!

Then it came time to hang our masterpiece. This is where Hubs comes in….its his duty!!

He hates when my projects become his projects!! lol

And the gallery wall just keeps on growing...

Everything in its place…

Fits in perfectly!

Fits in perfectly!

I think someone like her new craft!

I think someone liked her new monogram canvas!

Be safe and enjoy your long weekend everyone!!

Thanks for stopping by.

Thank you so much Sara! The stripes, although time consuming were very easy!

      1) Paint the entire wall with one solid colour (the light colour)
      2) measure from the ceiling to the top of your baseboard and devide into equal sections. I decided on 5 bands. I like uneven numbers.
      3) Take a level and draw the lines all the way around the room. I just used a regular level, which also doubled as a ruler.
      4) tape the stripes! I used Frog Tape!!! It’s the only tape I have ever used where the paint didn’t bleed through, and it didn’t peel the paint. It’s amazing.
      5) Paint the darker stripe! Always peel the tape off while the paint is still wet. This will avoid the paint from drying over the tape and peeling off!

      Hope that helps!! Xo

          Hi Sara, found the colours!

The darker tone is Benjamin Moore’s Eraser Pink: 2174-50
The lighter colour is Benjamin Moore’s Dream Whip: 2174-60

          Thanks again!
